The Role

An amazing opportunity has been created for Area Manager Sales in QLD to become an integral team member of the global Volkswagen Group as well as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand, a powerhouse of automotive commercial brands that is at the forefront of innovation, design and technology. This important role will inspire and motivate key internal and external partners across Australia.

As an Area Manager Sales within Commercial Vehicles Team, you will drive dealer performance and achieve the highest possible standard of customer satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities (simplified):

  • Analyse trends, competitor offerings and how they compare to the VGA product lines.
  • Review Marketing Plans. Plans consistent and effective guidelines for dealers.
  • Promote the digital marketing modes and techniques.
  • Manage dealers for your region.
  • Track and act on dealer stock pipelines for the market.
  • Monitor and review Fleet Business Activity, increase dealer market penetration.
  • Engage with national dealers to identify improvement opportunities and improve enquiry/ closing ratios.
  • Ensure dealer compliance with VGA Training programs.
  • Provide your deep insight into the dealer network challenges and solutions. Challenge the comfort zones!
  • Manage dealer accountability with regards to agreed action plans.
  • Prioritize actions to maximise customer satisfaction, retention and experiences.

 

Selection Criteria
To succeed in this role, candidates will need to possess the following:

  • 5+ years in a Sales/Dealer environment (focus on Commercial preferred) in the auto industry or extensive dealership experience.
  • Proven experience in driving dealer performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills plus the ability to interact within the company divisions to get results.
  • Relentlessness in pursuing goals that are set and agreed to.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving ability
  • Stakeholder influencing ability, using logic, facts and vision
  • Achieve industry-scale sales budget metrics and KPIs
  • Personal skills to operate as acting senior manager if and when required.
