Volkswagen Group Australia, the nation’s leading importer of European vehicles, is looking for a governance, quality and environmental driven multitasker, to join its Group Business Operations team based at VGA’s new national headquarters at Zetland in inner city Sydney.

Reporting to VGA’s Group Business Operations Manager, the Governance, Quality Assurance and Sustainability Manager would work across the entire organisation at every level, ensuring our compliance against all operational standards within the business.

This role will not only be responsible for the systems that track and manage our quality and compliance protocols, but also the development and implementation of ongoing corporate governance frameworks, policies and processes that sit under the Quality and Compliance remit. Furthermore, responsible for VGA’s  environmental, social and governance achievement of a net zero CO2 target by 2050.

A true cross functional multitask role designed for individuals with board experience, strong passion to drive change and achieve targets.

The role will:

  • Manage VGA’s current Quality and Compliance Management Systems, including but not limited to, Quality Management System, Environmental & Product Compliance Management Systems.
  • Maintain the currency of VGA’s external ISO9001 certification and other future ISO certifications.
  • Manage VGA’s Corporate Governance framework, regarding policies, processes, and important documents, Regulations Steering Committee and policy approval process.
  • Act as VGA’s Quality Manager, Environmental Officer, Product Compliance Officer and Group Audit Liaison Officer.
  • Lead VGA to achieving a net zero CO2 target by 2050, as instructed by VW AG and support by VGA’s Board of Management.
  • Identify, analyse, and evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and business processes that are in scope of the Quality & Compliance Management Systems.
  • Monitor and manage a wide range of quality activities across the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by liaising with all internal risk management functions while supporting the development and implementation of the organization's compliance policy
  • Plan and manage the delivery of VGA’s local and global audit programs, ensuring they addresses identified risk areas.
  • Act as VGA’s Group Audit Liaison Officer and coordinate audits with HQ and business units when audits are scheduled.
  • Own and administer VGA’s Nintex Promapp system in managing official documents/processes and VGA’s DocuSign system in managing digital signing.
  • Manage system usage, promote awareness and provide training to power users across the organisation.

 

To be successful for the role, the applicant must possess:

  • Qualification and/or certification of Quality (ISO9001) & Environmental (ISO9001) management systems required.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management (ISO31000) & WHS (ISO45001) management systems desired.
  • Business process management qualification desired, preferred Nintex Promapp experience.
  • Strong policy writing skills.
  • Ability to manage and perform internal audits.
  • Experience with corporate governance and continuous process improvements.
  • Environmental passion to make a difference and demonstrate target achievements.  
  • An ability to make sense of complex information in order to solve problems
  • A track record in effectively uncovering root causes and underlying issues
  • A natural style that gains the confidence and trust of others
  • The ability to equip others with knowledge and skills to solve problems and handle tasks

Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience (minimum 10+ years) that successfully demonstrates the required capabilities.
