The Role

We are looking for a senior addition to our Corporate Communications team. Reporting to VGA’s General Manager of Corporate Communications, the Product and PR Communications Manager would work across the both of the Volkswagen brands, SKODA and CUPRA. This exciting role is key in VGA's drive toward electrification, digitalisation and automation – aspects in which our parent company has become the recognised global leader during this most exciting period in the story of personal mobility. 

VGA’s Product and PR Communications Manager must:

  • Deliver an industry-leading press inquiry handling service
  • Deputise for the GM Communications as a spokesperson to the media
  • Represent the brands at local, national and international events
  • Liaise with other VGA departments and Volkswagen AG International Communications to ensure accurate and appropriate media information
  • Produce written and visual content for the brands’ websites and social media channels
  • Manage the production of media releases/packages
  • Plan and implement domestic and international launch events that meet the requirements of the Volkswagen Group brands
  • Pro-actively develop programs to promote and build brand awareness of the VGA brands
  • Provide communications advice to other departments, ensuring messaging is in line with core brand strategies and messages
  • Provide product positioning and planning advice
  • Manage and provide advice on the handling of customer complaints via the media

Selection Criteria

To be successful for the role, the applicant must possess:

  • Written and verbal communication skills of the highest order
  •  A background in communications, a national sales company and/or journalism
  • A solid background in, or knowledge of, the automotive industry with a particular knowledge of Volkswagen Group brands
  • Highly tuned stakeholder management practices
  • A track record in delivering and influencing others to deliver to defined milestones and deadlines
  • Confidence in influencing without authority
  • A high degree of awareness of and ability to quickly adjust personal style
  • A demonstrated ability to advise and coach and use each when appropriate
  • High attention to detail and time management
  • A strong grasp of project management practices and principles
