About your new Role

The Brand and Retail Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of model strategy and end-to-end brand and retail communications for Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles.


Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role plays a key part in delivering effective, insight-driven communications that support model performance, enhance brand perception, and achieve key business objectives.

 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

Brand and Model Strategy

  • Implement the model strategy for pillar and niche models within the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles portfolio.
  • Manage end-to-end brand communications for all models, ensuring clear audience definition, lifecycle management, and CI compliance.
  • Brief and manage photo shoots to ensure model content is available for advertising and retail materials.
  • Monitor and optimise campaign performance against KPIs and business objectives.

Retail and Performance Marketing

  • Support the delivery of the national retail strategy and quarterly retail campaigns, including dealer marketing support.
  • Manage campaign briefing, implementation, and post-campaign performance analysis.
  • Ensure marketing materials such as POS, brochures, and website content are up to date and aligned to brand standards.

Digital and Always-On Activity

  • Monitor the Always-On Programmatic strategy to maintain continuous in-market digital and social activity.
  • Collaborate with media agencies to implement test-and-learn practices and optimise budget efficiency.

Cross-Functional and Dealer Communication

  • Communicate model strategies across internal departments including Sales, Product, and PR.
  • Build strong relationships with the dealer network to support campaign communication and gather feedback.
  • Draft and distribute marketing bulletins, and ensure all assets are current on dealer platforms and Sesimi.

Reporting and Budget Management

  • Provide regular updates on market, brand, and campaign performance to the Head of Marketing.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and monitor campaign expenditure to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Manage agency relationships across creative, media, and key suppliers, ensuring scope and service levels are met.

 

About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing (mandatory).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing communications, ideally within automotive or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong understanding of advertising, media planning, digital, and retail marketing.
  • Proven experience developing integrated multi-channel campaigns across brand and retail.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and reporting.
  • High attention to detail, with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
