The Role

The Sales Operations Specialist role encompasses sales operations, sales planning, fleet and remarketing.
Responsible for creation and execution of retail campaigns, incentive programs and sales operation processes using market research, analysis of our overall business and understanding factory planning to support the planning of the Sales and Market volumes, both short and long term. The role will work closely with the Marketing, eCommerce, Product, Finance and Sales teams, as well as CUPRA HQ.
This role also involves the development and tracking of sales and financial strategies to the Head of Sales to meet the sales objectives of the CUPRA brand as well as other projects – it’s a start-up after all!
Key Challenges of this role:
- Managing expectations and delivering KPIs of the manufacturer whilst supporting the retail network and working with multiple departments
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise competing tasks and negotiation skills to achieve KPIs
- Start-up business has additional complication; especially due to new business model. Strong requirement for adaptable thinking
The main responsibilities include:
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, eCommerce, Sales and Logistics to coordinate new model launches.
- Manage CUPRA tactical budget, campaign proposals, Agent payments, Agent recharges, Agent performance bonuses and individual support requests as well as undertaking feasibility studies as required
- Support the preparation of Planning Rounds on varying scenarios by using available information from internal sources like Product, Marketing and CUPRA HQ
- Analyse monthly stock and sales volumes to Budget and KPI’s, including monthly and ad-hoc reporting to CUPRA HQ
- Prepare weekly/monthly Sales reports, highlight shortfalls to HoS and ASM’s
- Provide relevant support to the Head of Sales in executing retail/sales campaigns, incentive programs and other related initiatives to drive sales
- Monitor on a weekly basis inventory levels and mix and determine course of action with Sales Planning.
- Monitor CUPRA stock ageing, prepare and provide HoS and ASM’s with reports
- Investigate Fleet internal/external SWOT and present to HoS
- Utilise all available mediums to gain insight into different sales channels
- Assist with ad-hoc master presentations
- Provide ongoing support to training participants as required
- Ensure Agent personnel use and understand reporting systems and provide assistance as required
- Work with ASM’s to manage allocation of Agent’s demonstration fleet in accordance to policy
- Assist with the CUPRA audit process
- Principal communication person between Sales and Finance
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc analysis, presentations and reports as directed
- Assist other departments with sourcing of vehicles (Company Fleet, Marketing, etc.)
- Provide back up support to other Sales team members where required
- Maintain awareness of macro-economic and automotive industry trends
- Assist CEX Department with customer queries
Selection Criteria
To succeed in this role, candidates will need to possess the following:
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in an operational sales environment is a requirement
- Understanding of the Australian automotive market
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise competing tasks
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Articulate communication skills and ability to build rapport with VGA and Agent staff
- Practical problem solving skills with an operational focus
- High attention to detail and time management skills
- Advanced levels in all Microsoft software packages
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business/Economics or equivalent desirable
