About your new Role:
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Executive plays a key role in delivering the team’s strategic plans to elevate awareness of the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles and Škoda brands. Working across all owned and earned media channels, this role contributes to achieving departmental objectives through efficient processes, strong relationships and high‑quality, targeted communication.
This role provides essential support to the Communications team through effective coordination, organisation and administration, helping ensure seamless execution of media, events and internal communication activities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Media Event Support
- Manage press event calendars and coordinate all event logistics
- Arrange domestic/international travel and manage invitations/RSVPs
- Prepare media itineraries and oversee event agencies, including press cars
- Provide onsite event support and assist with photography/videography logistics
Internal Communications
- Implement internal communication strategies and content across channels
- Coordinate internal company events
Media Liaison
- Respond to media enquiries with accurate materials
- Support media strategy, pitching, and securing editorial coverage
Media Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting
- Provide strategic oversight of media monitoring and reporting activities, ensuring alignment with brand and corporate communication objectives
- Review and interpret key media insights to support decision-making and communications planning
- Ensure reporting outputs meet quality standards and support executive- and brand-level requirements
- Collaborate with the team to guide the development of improved reporting formats, dashboards and KPI frameworks
- Maintain visibility of reputational trends, key topics and media sentiment at a high level, escalating relevant insights to leadership
- Track and analyse media coverage according to established KPI framework, create and update media reports
Owned Media
- Assist with social media community management
- Support briefs, content planning and creation
Press Fleet Coordination
- Manage and coordinate national press vehicle fleet, including bookings, audits and quality checks
- Process invoices and maintain fleet budget accuracy
- Coordinate arrival, preparation and logistics for new press vehicles
Coordination & Administration
- Support departmental projects and provide PO/invoicing administration
- Track and manage budgets and update press databases
- Liaise with suppliers
- Coordinate newsletters, presentations and maintain media archives
- Schedule meetings, take minutes, and manage department organisation
- Assist with SLAs and supplier performance monitoring
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:
- Degree in Media, Communications, Journalism or related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in media relations, social media, or journalism
- Unrestricted driver’s licence
- Strong understanding of the modern media landscape across owned and earned channels
- Highly organised with strong administrative skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent writing skills across varied audiences and formats
- Experience writing press releases or targeted communications
- Event or logistics management experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Automotive industry interest or experience advantageous
