About your new Role
As Head of Sales – Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles Australia, you will lead our Sales and Planning teams to deliver exceptional performance across all sales channels. You will be accountable for revenue growth, network profitability, and the strategic execution of national sales operations.
This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of the automotive industry, capable of driving operational excellence and collaborating across key business functions including Marketing, Network Development, Product Planning, Aftersales, and Logistics.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve volume, market share, stock, COOP and CEM targets across B2C, B2B, dealer, fleet, and digital platforms

Provide clear and data-driven recommendations to improve dealer performance, process efficiency, stock management and customer experience

Lead the preparation of annual sales budgets and dealer volume targets, and ensure alignment with OEM production and business plans

Oversee sales forecasting, inventory planning, and executive reporting, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights

Drive cross-functional initiatives in collaboration with Marketing, Product, and Network Development teams

Champion dealer performance through structured reviews, continuous improvement plans and consistent stakeholder engagement

Ensure the development and delivery of effective training and engagement strategies for the dealer network

Uphold governance through effective resource management, risk mitigation, and performance reporting to Volkswagen Group Australia and the wider Volkswagen network
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Extensive experience in automotive sales management, ideally within an OEM or major dealership group

Minimum 8 -10 years of progressive experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role

Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to link data and strategy to tangible outcomes

Proven capability in coaching high-performing teams and developing collaborative business partnerships

Deep understanding of sales channels, customer behaviour and the evolving automotive landscape

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
-
Familiarity with electric vehicles, digital retailing, and connected car technologies

Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools such as Salesforce

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
