Volkswagen Group Australia, the nation's leading importer of European vehicles, is looking for an IT Specialist to join its progressive IT team and support its digital transition through various technical projects. Our IT function is critical to our success as we look to collaborate closely with our various departments to improve their business operations via digital solutions. You need to be an IT die hard, have a strong track record and be able to demonstrate you've managed to balance solutions and technology whilst building effective internal and external relationships.

 

Reporting to VGA's IT Manager - Projects and Digital, IT Specialist will work across the portfolio of Volkswagen brands and the various departments held within the business. The role demands to work collaboratively with business to drive successful technical solutions and initiatives in line with broader business objectives.

 

Develop and maintain effective relationships with VGA's internal stakeholders and IT Partners, including effectively communicating with all stakeholders and to proactively manage the technical changes.

 

VGA's IT Specialist will:

 

  • Deliver technical solutions, management and support for VGA ICT corporate applications.
  • Drive and participate in the digitalisation and transformation of businesses systems by working with the key business stakeholders.
  • As the core member of the IT team, this role will be responsible for developing roadmaps, strategies, delivery, management and maintenance of all IT applications/projects for the VGA by providing both strategic, business and technical consulting to the business.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and systems is maintained and enhancement of information systems is in line with VGA security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

 

To be successful for the role, the applicant must have:

 

  • Certification in IT/Tertiary qualification
  • Technical expertise regarding relevant standards of IT and IT Project & Service delivery processes (ITIL, SCRUM etc)
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management best practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and time management skills & excellent project management skills
  • Good knowledge about major IT components (networks, operating systems, middleware, databases, storage, mobile communication devices and strong interaction between business (customer) requirements and available technology
  • Experience in implementing project frameworks into operations while managing projects
