The team works closely with our dealer network to ensure vehicle servicing, repairs, maintenance, spare parts, accessories, technical support and customer care are delivered to the highest standards for our customers.
About your new role
Reporting to the Manager, Apprentice & Technical Training, you’ll be responsible for the development, delivery and continuous improvement of our Stage 1 Technical Training programs across all VGA brands. From apprentices and new technicians to advanced technical learners, you’ll ensure our dealer network has the right skills to meet customer expectations today.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Design and deliver training: Create engaging programs using adult learning principles, keeping content aligned with evolving factory training standards and new technologies.

Lead technical capability: Deliver training courses, assessments and mentoring that raise the bar for technical expertise across the network.

Shape apprentice journeys: Drive recruitment into the Apprentice Specialist Program, support apprentices through their learning, and keep dealers informed on progress.

Oversee training operations: Manage training facilities, equipment, vehicles and online learning platforms to ensure professional, market-relevant delivery.

Coach and support trainers: Mentor Technical Trainers, provide feedback and maintain consistent quality across all Stage 1 programs.

Collaborate and innovate: Partner with internal teams, dealers and third parties to identify needs, evolve content, and continuously improve training outcomes.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

Solid technical training experience in an automotive environment (apprentices, technicians or service staff) and Technician Qualification

Strong knowledge of diagnosis, repair procedures and emerging automotive technologies

Experience in designing and delivering training programs using modern learning techniques
-
Confidence mentoring trainers and apprentices, with excellent communication and coaching skills

Strong organisational skills to manage training schedules, facilities and resource
