About your new Role
The Sales Planning and Ordering Manager is responsible for leading Sales and Market volume planning across both short- and long-term, ensuring stock levels align with budget, demand and market conditions. You’ll develop and track sales and financial plans, monitor performance and manage risks.
Working closely with the Product Managers, you’ll help keep critical product timelines on schedule, including model launches, end-of-production activities and special editions.
You’ll partner with teams across Sales, Finance and the wider business to deliver plans successfully. This role suits someone with strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to turn data into clear insights that support decision-making.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Lead end-to-end Sales and Market volume planning across short- and long-term timeframes, ensuring alignment of stock with budget, demand and market conditions.
- Develop, recommend and monitor sales and financial strategies to support achievement of volume and revenue objectives.
- Partner with the Product Managers to manage product lifecycle activities, including model introductions, end-of-production planning and specification changes.
- Manage the Planning Round process, including Total Market alignment with the Group and coordination of brand volumes with internal and factory stakeholders.
- Monitor stock levels and sales performance to identify risks and opportunities, including aged stock, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and deliver regular performance reporting for management and regional stakeholders.
- Support the execution of sales campaigns and incentive programs, while monitoring dealer stock levels and mix to ensure compliance with agreed policies.
- Manage vehicle ordering, allocation and dealer stock compliance, including Fairshare distribution and stock pick-up requirements, in close coordination with regional planning.
- Facilitate financial processes in partnership with Finance, including budgets, campaign proposals, dealer payments and bonus schemes.
- Maintain accurate visibility of stock and pipeline across systems, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
- Support ongoing optimisation of planning systems and contribute to pricing and specification submissions for new models.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with factory, regional teams and internal stakeholders across Sales, Planning, Product and Marketing.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Economics or Finance.
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a sales, operations or analytical role.
- Strong understanding of the automotive market and products.
- Confident communicator, able to engage with a range of stakeholders (customers, dealers, agencies and internal teams)
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements across vehicle registration, specifications and advertising.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Practical mindset with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Experience developing and delivering training.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Solid project management experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
